Urine is produced by the kidneys then passed to the bladder where it is stored until the person is ready to excrete it by urination. It is necessary to excrete urine for it contains the poisonous waste product urea as well as waste salts and some water. The water may be needed by the body but some has to be lost because the other waste products can only be excreted in solution.
